SAM IO is a hand-operated intraosseous access system that accomplishes catheter placement through the continuous activation of the driver's trigger assembly while delicately guiding the needle assembly into its designated position. The repeated full actuation of the trigger induces a rotational spin of the needle assembly, and when coupled with gentle downward pressure, it facilitates precise IO placement. Once the needle assembly is properly positioned, the stylet is removed to expose a standard Luer-lock for an extension set connection. With the extension set connected, aspiration verification, flushing, and selected treatment(s) may commence.

The SAM IO Driver is crafted from polycarbonate material, carefully selected for its exceptional durability. To ensure its resilience in demanding environments, it has undergone rigorous testing using MIL-STD-810G methods.
The innovative design of SAM IO includes a patented manually operated driver that is designed for multi-use and doesn't depend on battery power. This ergonomic driver design allows for swift and intuitive application, while also providing a tactile sensation for precise needle placement.
